ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORISATION FOR THE PROPOSED KOEBERG NUCLEAR POWER STATION ADMINISTRATIVE COMPLEX AND TRAINING CENTRE CAMPUS, MELKBOSSTRAND

NOTIFICATION OF AMENDMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORISATION AND APPEAL DECISION
 
Notice is hereby given that the Department of Environmental Affairs has amended the Environmental Authorization (EA) and Appeal Decision for the proposed Administrative Complex and Training Centre Campus at the Koeberg Power Station, Melkbosstrand, Cape Town on 20 February 2015. 
 
A.   Environmental Authorisation and Appeal Decision Amendment
 
The Department in terms of Regulation 42 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations, 2010, has made the following amendment:
 
‘The following condition (Condition 1.45) is hereby removed from the EA dated 20 February 2009 and Appeal Decision issued on 23 November 2010:
 
‘The construction of the proposed administrative centre and training campus must be finalised before any further development is submitted for environmental authorisation’
 
 A copy of the Amendment of the EA and Appeal Decision and EA dated 20 February 2009 and Appeal Decision of 23 November 2010 can also be viewed at the following location:

Should a stakeholder wish to appeal the amendment decision the procedure is as follows:
 
B. Appeal Procedure
 
An appellant must submit an appeal to the appeal administrator, and a copy of the appeal to the applicant, any registered interested and affected party and any organ of state with interest in the matter within 20 days from the date that the notification of the decision was sent to the applicant by the competent authority.
