No loadshedding was implemented today, but the risk of Stage 1 rotational loadshedding remains high for tomorrow
Sunday, 09 December 2018: No loadshedding was implemented today. However, the probability of Stage 1 rotational loadshedding remains high from 09:00 until 22:00 tomorrow and for the rest of this week. The reason for the high probability of Stage 1 and not Stage 2 loadshedding as earlier anticipated is the improvement we have seen in generating units coming back online.

While we are happy that there has been some improvement in generation performance, we caution that the power system remains vulnerable and volatile, and should plant performance deteriorate significantly, Stage 2 rotational loadshedding cannot be ruled out.

Our maintenance teams continue to work around the clock to bring units back online.

Eskom would like to thank its customers for using electricity sparingly. We will keep customers informed if there are any changes to the system.
