Eskom Research, Testing and Development (RT&D) is hosting the 3rd Eskom Clean Energy Conference (in-person event) on the 6th and 7th of October 2025 at the Coastlands Umhlanga Hotel and Convention Centre in Durban. This conference is an official G20 side event and will convene industry leaders, researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders from across the energy sector. The theme ‘Advancing a Clean Energy Transition for Our Context – Just, Affordable, Accessible, Inclusive’ underscores Eskom’s collective commitment to shaping pathways towards the future of clean and sustainable energy for South Africa and beyond.

Taking a deliberate African focus, the purpose of the conference is to translate global commitments into context-specific actions that elevate African leadership, technical innovation, and multistakeholder collaboration towards driving a just, affordable, and sustainable clean energy transition. It also seeks to align efforts with broader G20 workstreams on Clean Energy, Just Energy Transitions, and Net Zero objectives, integrating the technical ETWG, B20 (Business) and Y20 (Youth) insights.
