ESKOM GRANTS LETSEMENG LOCAL MUNICIPALITY SEVEN MORE DAYS TO MAKE PAYMENT
WEDNESDAY, 19 FEBRUARY 2020: Based on a commitment by Free State Treasury to assist the Letsemeng Local Municipality to pay a portion of its Eskom electricity debt, Eskom has granted the Municipality a seven day grace period to settle the amount payable to Eskom to avert the withholding of electricity supply services.

As mentioned in a media statement issued by Eskom on Monday, 17 February 2020, Eskom served a notice to Letsemeng Local Municipality on 31 January 2020, informing the Municipality of its intention to withhold the provision of electricity supply services to the Municipality from 20 February 2020 due to the Municipality’s breach of its payment conditions with Eskom.

Should the agreed payment not be made by Wednesday, 26 February 2020, Eskom will withhold electricity supply services to Letsemeng Local Municipality in terms of the previous notice as per the following schedule:

27 February 2020 until breach is remedied

Monday to Sunday
06h00 – 20h00

Electricity consumers in Koffiefontein, Petrusburg and Luckhoff will be affected.
