Stage 2 rotational loadshedding will be implemented until 16:00 today and will resume at 18:00, to help ease traffic congestion
Monday, 3 February 2020: Further to the earlier update, Stage 2 loadshedding will be suspended for two hours from 16:00 today, in an endeavor to ease traffic congestion. Loadshedding will then resume at 18:00 until 06:00 tomorrow.

Suspending loadshedding during the peak traffic hours is a pilot programme aimed at achieving an appropriate Loadshedding Philosophy for the country. As this is not possible everyday, it will be confirmed each day, dependent on the risk based on the available capacity and emergency reserves on the day.

Stage 2 loadshedding will be implemented until Thursday at 06:00,  with respite during early morning and evening traffic periods 06:00 to 09:00 and 16:00 to 18:00, when possible.

We regret that loadshedding has a negative impact on South Africa.  Critical maintenance is being done on units that are currently on planned outages as well as some of those on unplanned outages to ensure timeous return to service.

We will keep South Africans informed about the status of the electricity system and our recovery efforts throughout this period.

Customers are advised to check their loadshedding schedules on the Eskom https://(loadshedding.eskom.co.za) or municipal websites depending on who supplies them.
