Eskom receives substantial submissions on intended disconnection of supply – West Rand Power Distributors
Tuesday, 4 February 2020: Eskom has decided to postpone its final decision which was scheduled for 4 February 2020 to 7 February 2020 in order to allow sufficient time to consider the numerous submissions received.

Eskom received substantial submissions from interested parties, which are currently in review. This follows the public notice on West Rand Power Distributors that was published on 24 December 2020. The notice called upon all affected parties to make submissions, written representations or comments indicating why Eskom should or should not proceed with its contemplated disconnection contained in that notice.

In order for Eskom to meaningfully engage and consider all the submissions received, it was considered necessary not to proceed with the final decision on 4 February 2020 as previously communicated. We will also continue to engage all relevant stakeholders and will inform the public by 7 February 2020 of the outcome of the submissions received and the final decision on the matter”, said Daphne Mokoena, Senior Manager for Customer Services in the Gauteng Operating Unit.
