Eskom attends to major outages in Gauteng
Wednesday, 4 November 2020: Eskom customers across Gauteng province are experiencing an extended power supply interruption due to multiple network faults, coupled with storms affecting some parts of the following areas:
Lanseria, Morningside, Muldersdrift, Paulshof, Petervale , Soweto and Zandspruit.
Due to the high call volumes, it will take an extended period of time to completely clear the backlog and restore supply to all affected customers. The Eskom recovery teams are working around the clock towards repairing the faults and damages to restore supply to the affected areas.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused to our customers, and wish to assure you that we are doing our best to restore supply. Customers in the respective areas will be updated of the developments via Eskom social media platforms and other channels.
For safety reasons, customers are urged to treat all electricity points as live at all times.
The Eskom Contact Centre is currently inundated with calls and customers are encouraged to use other channels to log a fault to minimise the long waiting periods. Faults may be reported through the Eskom App, e-mail: or via SMS on 35328 and Contact Centre 08600 37566 (24hrs)
