No loadshedding was implemented today, but the risk for Stage 1 loadshedding remains
Thursday, 11 April 2019: Eskom did not implement loadshedding today due to the demand being lower than anticipated, and receiving additional megawatts than projected from the wind power plants as well as the concerted effort from Eskom teams who worked hard to avert some of the potential risks on our generating units.

As indicated in the Winter Plan, there is a risk of Stage 1 rotational loadshedding over the next few months. However, loadshedding will only be implemented if absolutely necessary.

We continue to encourage residents and businesses to use electricity sparingly during this period. Please switch off geysers as well as all non-essential lighting and electricity appliances to assist in reducing demand.

Customers are advised to keep checking their loadshedding schedules on the Eskom or municipal website, and plan on the assumption that loadshedding will take place.

For Eskom customers, these schedules are available on the Eskom website (http://loadshedding.eskom.co.za). Eskom customers can also contact our Customer Contact Centre at 0860 037 566.

Eskom would like to thank its customers for using electricity sparingly. We will keep customers informed if there are any changes to the system.
