Parts of QwaQwa affected by outage following equipment failure

TUESDAY, 02 NOVEMBER 2021:  Failure of critical equipment at Witsieshoek substation in QwaQwa at approximately 23:30 on Monday, 01 November 2021, resulted in loss of supply to parts of QwaQwa in the Maluti-A-Phofung Local Municipality in the Free State.  

Eskom technicians have assessed the situation and are sourcing the required material.  As this stage, an estimated restoration time is yet unknown; however, it is expected that repairs will continue until around midnight tonight. 

Electricity users are urged to treat all electrical lines, sockets, and appliances as live and dangerous.
