MONDAY, 14 JUNE 2021, 17:20: Upon further assessment of the work to be performed at Vaalpark Substation following the failure of two transformers over the past weekend, a new restoration time has been estimated.
While we are pleased to have restored supply to Saaiplaas Rural Line through back-feeding, it will unfortunately be impossible for Eskom to restore electricity supply to Metsimaholo Local Municipality (Sasolburg) by tomorrow morning, as previously indicated. A more realistic estimation for power to be restored is Wednesday, 16 June 2021.
Eskom acknowledges the extreme discomfort of affected electricity users and apologise sincerely for the inconvenience.
Electricity users are reminded to treat all electrical lines, sockets and appliances as live and dangerous at all times as electricity can be switched on without notice.
Eskom customers are encouraged to download the MyEskom Customer App from Google Play and the App Store.
