Wednesday, 1 July 20: We are implementing load reduction
from 05:00 – 09:00
(tomorrow morning) to avoid network overloading in high
density areas that are prone to illegal connections, meter bypasses and
vandalism of electricity infrastructure.
Affected Areas:
Soweto -
Chiawelo,
Dhlamini, Jabulani, Klipriviersoog, Mapetla, Molapo, Moroka, Naledi, Phiri,
Protea North, Protea South, Protea Glen, Senaoane, Bram Fishcerville,
Dobsonville, Dobsonville Gardens, Doornkop, Emdeni, Lufhereng, Meadowlands,
Protea North, Protea South, Protea Glen, Thulani, Vlakfontein and Zuurbult.
Vaal -
Boipatong,
Powerville, Sharpeville, Tshepiso, Vanderbijlpark N.E.3, Vereeniging, Althea
AH, Ennerdale South, Geluksdal AH, Kanana Park and Orange Farm.
During the
load reduction implementation, customers are urged to switch off all their
electrical appliances to avoid power surges when power returns. Failure to do so may lead to transformer
trips or failures, and damages to household appliances when supply is
restored.

period.
